Government won't back bandh, but KPCC will: Siddaramaiah

KPCC will extend support to 'Aakrosh Divas' on directions from central leaders.

BENGALURU/MYSURU: CM Siddaramaiah and home minister Dr G Parameshwar said on Saturday that leaders of KPCC will extend support to “Aakrosh Divas” on directions from central leaders of the party to join nation-wide protests against demonetization on November 28.

Mr Siddaramaiah, however, clarified that the government will not support the protest and that government offices, schools and colleges will function as normal. Meanwhile, Dr Parameshwar told the media in Mysuru: “We have withdrawn 4000 police from different districts pressed at Belagavi for security for Monday. The decision on demonetisation without adequate preparations was not a good move. Some people are indulging in turning white to black as agents, illegally. Action will be initiated about such people as per law.” Speaker K B Koliwad cited this reason for putting off the sitting on November 28 to December 3.
