Chennai: Political leaders on Saturday condoled the death of former Cuba President and leader of the Communist revolution in the country Fidel Castro and showered lavish praise on him for guiding his nation in the socialist path for about 50 years.

He described the achievements of Cuban socialist revolution and how Castro faced the US challenge. DMK treasurer Stalin described the death as a loss for all the races with a passion for liberation.

Terming Castro as a model for Marxist Lenism, PMK leader S.Ramadoss said though he was born in a rich family, the Cuban leader did not live like a rich man. MDMK general secretary recalled Catro’s words ‘History will acquit me’ when he was tried for treason and said those words still inspires everyone fighting for their nation’s liberation.

PMK youth wing secretary Anbumani Ramadoss said Castro was a revolutionary as well as a people’s leader.
