AP High Court Judge Recused from Hearing Interim Bail Petition of Naidu

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh High Court vacation bench judge Justice Pratapa Venkata Jyotirmai on Friday recused from hearing the interim bail petition of Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

The judge made it clear that the registrar of the High Court would decide which bench would hear the bail petitions of Naidu in the skill development scam case. However, the bail petition would be heard by the Chief Justice on October 30.

Counsels for Naidu on Thursday filed a house motion petition urging the court to urgently hear the bail petition as the former CM would undergo a cataract operation to his right eye. On September 27, Justice S.V.N. Bhatti who hails from Andhra Pradesh recused himself from hearing a quash petition filed by Naidu in the Supreme Court.

In another petition, the ACB special court in Vijayawada on Friday reserved its judgment till October 30 in a petition of Naidu seeking call data of all the AP CID officers involved in his arrest in Nandyal on September 9.

The ACB court, after hearing prolonged arguments of both sides, reserved its judgment.

Earlier Naidu’s counsel argued that the call data of the officials involved in the arrest and moving of Naidu from the Nandyal RK Function Hall to the CID office in Tadepalli would reveal the identity of the officials involved in the arrest and leaking of photos and information to the media.

However, the advocates arguing on behalf of the CID stated via a counter that divulging information about the CID officers would be detrimental to their personal safety and hence this should not be made public.
