CHENNAI: Even as people from all walks of life and across regions prayed for the rescue of Sujith Wilson from the trapped borewell at Nadukattupatti near Manapparai town in Tiruchy in the State, the social media too got flooded with messages of concern, anguish and sincere prayers for the kid through the hashtag SaveSurjith and prayforsurjith.
Among several hundreds of twitteratis, were Hollywood actors and their fan groups.
Ishu Guru triggered a debate with his tweet. He said, “Dear @PMOIndia Pls tak some necessary action regarding tis abandoned borewell In India which costed many lives. If v can snd Vikram lander to moon, sure we can Invent nd support people who invent a Vikram lander to go below earth. #savesurjeet #PrayForSujith #prayforsurjith.”
As the NDRF and SDRF teams joined the rescue operation on Saturday evening, Rajeev Shukla, former Union Minister & Chairman IPL said, “Heart-wrenching to see the little boy in Tamil Nadu stuck in the abandoned borewell. The state government has sent in the #SDRF team. Hope we will get our boy sooner now. All prayers with Sujith. #savesujit.”
Actor Arvindsamy tweeted, “My heart trembles in fear and pain for 2 year old Surjith who's stuck in a borewell trap for over 14 hours! Imagine panni kooda paaka mudiyala... Aram movie happening in real life and I hope to God we get the same happy ending. #SaveSurjith #prayforsurjith.”
A twitterati CStina, A Bird far away expressed, “A 2 y.o kid in India fell into a deep borewell. He's been stuck in there for more than 24hrs and still not rescued.

Former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan said, “the prayers by several thousands of people and the efforts of the NDRF and other teams should facilitate the safe return of the kid Surjith. Let's pray for his rescue, #savesurjeet @surjith.”
