Hyderabad: Police arrested a group of seven youngsters, including two students, who took to robbery only to raise money to buy ganja.
A stolen phone, two bikes and an auto-rickshaw were seized from them.
The case came to light when on October 19. A. Sairam, an escort guard at a software company, was walking home in Yousufguda from Jubilee Hills Check Post. Sairam was accosted by seven people riding on two bikes and an auto-rickshaw, who threatened him and took his mobile phone away.
Following a complaint, the police investigated and identified the vehicles. The accused have been identified as Shaik Salman, 21, intermediate student Arbaz Khan, 19, degree student Syed Imran, 19, car driver Mohammed Jahangeer, 22, labourer Khaja Pasha, 19, and auto drivers Mohd Salman, 20, and Shaik Ghouse.
