Kochi: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in his capacity as Chancellor on Saturday appointed Dr Mohanan Kunnu-mmal as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), for a period of five years from the date on which he assumes office or till he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier under Section 10(5)(i) of the Kerala University of Health Sciences Act, 2010.
Dr. Mohanan, Professor and Head of Radio-diagnosis in MES Medical College, Perinthalmanna also serves as Dean of Medicine and Member, Governing Council, Kerala University of Health Sciences. Earlier, he was Principal, Govt. Medical College, Manjeri and Professor of Radio diagnosis at Govt Medical College, Thrissur. He had won the award for the best Doctor in the State in 2016. A Kannur native, he is currently settled at Chembukkavu in Thrissur. He is a student of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor Dr M K C Nair.
