Kozhikode: A 26-year-old woman riding pillion was killed when a bus hit a two-wheeler on Friday near the Pottammal junction here. Wayanad Sultan Bathery Kuppadi native Ambili Vijayan was riding pillion of the two-wheeler driven by her friend. The duo was travelling to their workplace at Mavoor road around 9:45 am when they met with the accident. The person riding the bike has been identified as Kakkanc-hery native Rineesh, who has been admitted to Kozhikode Govern-ment Medical College hospital with serious injuries.
Ambili who stays in a hostel at Kozhikode was coming from her native place at Bathery, when her friend decided to drop her at the workplace since both of them work for the same mobile company. Ambili fell to the ground after being hit by the bus and the rear tyre of the bus moved over her head. She was immediztely taken to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
