Palakkad: Shornur MLA P.K. Sasi, who is facing charges of sexually harassing a woman leader of the DYFI, shared the stage with law minister A.K. Balan who is one of members of the two-member committee put in place by the party to probe the charges against the MLA.
The MLA and the minister together attended the party event giving membership to CPI workers who had crossed over to the CPM at Thachampara region in Mannarkkad here on Friday.
Mr Sasi was not attending party events after the allegations raised by the DYFI woman leader who is a college student.
It has been nearly two months after the party confirmed such a complaint by the youth leader and the party panel consisting of Mr Balan and Kannur MP KP Sreemathi which came place more than a month ago has not yet filed it report before the party. With the reported being delayed, Mr Sasi has started attending party events in the district. The woman leader who filed complaint against the MLA had refused to give a statement to the cops when they approached her and Mr Balan had told reporters two weeks ago in Thrissur that the panel probing the matter would submit the report at a convenient time and the media did not bother much about it.
