Narendra Modi to interact with Dharmasthala Self Help Groups

Mr Modi is scheduled to visit the famous Sri Manjunatha Swami temple in Dharmasthala and attend an event in Ujire on Sunday.

Mangaluru: Disappointed by BJP national president, Amit Shah cancelling his visit to Mangaluru, party leaders here are now looking forward to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's visit to Dharmasthala and Ujire on Sunday.

Mr Modi is scheduled to visit the famous Sri Manjunatha Swami temple in Dharmasthala and attend an event in Ujire on Sunday. He will symbolically handover RuPay cards to a few members of the self- help groups promoted by Dharmasthala and also grace the occasion where the State Bank of India will sign an MoU for cashless transactions for the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP). "This may not be a political programme, but it is part of Modiji's dream to promote cashless transactions, Jandhan Yojana and rural development," said a senior BJP leader.

"These are PM's dream projects and he will speak in detail about them and those present are likely to carry his message to others in villages. This will also help the BJP in the region with elections due in a few months in the state,” he explained.

Prime Minister Narendera Modi will land at Mangaluru Airport at 10.15 am on October 29 and will leave for Dharmasthala by helicopter. After a darshan of the Sri Manjunatha Swami Temple, he will participate in various events before leaving for Bengaluru on a special fight
