Security up for immersion of idols

Hyderabad: Police chiefs of the Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad on Tuesday took ground inspection of arrangements for the Ganesh idols procession and immersion on Thursday.

Hyderabad top cop C.V. Anand carried out a route inspection from the Balapur Ganesha temple to Hussainsagar, traversing 19 km through Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Nayapul, Moazzam Jahi Market, Telugu Talli Flyover, Secretariat and People’s Plaza.

Anand instructed zonal DCPs to work collaboratively, particularly where the processions converge at the Moazzam Jahi Market.

Cyberabad police chief Stephen Raveendra and his Rachakonda counterpart D.S. Chauhan undertook ground inspections and directed zonal officers, including DCPs, ACPs and SOTs to undertake precautionary measures.

Chauhan said: “We are making all the security arrangements for the Ganesh idol immersion and have prepared our staff months in advance for the Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations.”

Raveendra, after inspecting ponds and mandapams on Monday night, said: “Ganapati celebrations are going on peacefully in all areas under the jurisdiction of Cyberabad commissionerate.”
