TTD warns of legal action against heli-pilgrimage tour operator

The TTD clarified that VIP break tickets will be provided only to VIPs as per protocol and for those recommended by such VIPs

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has warned of legal action against the Vasavi Yatra and Tours for misleading devotees with a promise of VIP break darshan at the Tirumala and Tiruchanoor temples on Saturdays during the Puratasi month via chartered helicopter trips.

In a statement here on Monday, the TTD cautioned the devotees against being carried away by such fake promises and beware of fraudulent operators. An operator by name B Shiva Kumar was found openly publicizing via social media about such package tours from Chennai, Coimbatore and Bangalore via helicopter trips, it said.

“The operator Vasavi Yatra and Tours has publicized that the heli-pilgrimage tours will be arranged for a payment of Rs 1,11,116. The package includes chartered helicopter trips to Tirupati along with VIP break darshan at the Tirumala and Tiruchanoor temples besides accommodation in a five-star hotel. They are trying to lure pilgrims in the name of TTD darshan,” an temple official said.

The TTD clarified that VIP break tickets will be provided only to VIPs as per protocol and for those recommended by such VIPs. Such tickets are not provided to private individuals and tour agencies. It has appealed to devotees to keep a watch against such “fraudulent” operators and bring such instances to its notice so that necessary action against them could be initiated.
