Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram DCC gave a rousing reception to the new KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran who arrived at the airport here from Delhi at 2.10 p.m. on Wednesday along with his wife Usha and daughter Parvathy.
Those present at the airport included MPs M.A. Shanawaz and Kodikunnil Suresh, MLAs V.S. Sivakumar, M.Vincent, K.S. Sabrinathan, Roji M. John, former MLAs Sharatchandra Prasad, Palode Ravi and Pandalam Sudhakaran, KPCC treasurer Johnson Abraham, KPCC spokesman Rajmohan Unnithan and DCC presidents Neyyatinkara Sanal, Bindu Krishna, T. Sidhique and Hakkim Kunnil. Later, he was taken to the city in a convey of cars.
Mr Ramachandran will assume office at 12 noon on Thursday at a function at the Indira Bhavan. Outgoing president M.M. Hassan will officially hand over the reins at the function.
