Grand Anicut canal
Thanjavur: Additional secretary of PWD, M. Balaji, inspected the Grand Anicut and other canals here on Wednesday and urged officials to consistently monitor the flow of water in the rivers and regulate them in such a way so that water reaches tail-end areas without fail.
Mr. Balaji inspected Grand Anicut, Cauvery-Kodamuruti head at Thirukattuppalli, Cauvery-Arasalar head at Mettu Theru and Cauvery-Veeracholan river head at Mananchery. He also inspected the Koothadi canal and Manniyar at Kaduveli.
Chief engineer, PWD Tiruchy, Senthilvelan, executive engineers Mohamed Iqbal, Asokan and Thiruvettaiselvan, accompanied Balaji, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.
