Shabbir Ali demands legislation on NRI policy
Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Shabbir Ali on Tuesday demanded Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and minister K.T. Rama Rao should stop making empty statements on NRIs welfare and should introduce the NRI policy bill in the Assembly.
Addressing mediapersons at the Assembly media point, he asked what happened to the poll promises of the TRS on comprehensive NRI policy, which had not materialised three years and six months after the government was formed.
He said he was receiving phone calls from the NRIs belonging to Nizamabad Karimnager and Siddipet to save them and to help them return, he added
He said the TRS government should arrange an all-party study tour along with external ministry officials under the chairmanship a state minister to meet and interact with employees, labour and officials to address the NRIs problems as was done by the Congress government earlier.
He also said Mr Rama Rao had failed in securing top industries for the state.
