One more claimant for MP's land' in Ranga Reddy district

Bhavana Cooperative Housing Limited has laid claim to 125.3 acres.

Hyderabad: In yet another twist to the controversy over the lands in Survey No 83 of Raidurg village in Serilingampally mandal of Ranga Reddy district on the city outskirts, Bhavana Cooperative Housing Limited has laid claim to 125.3 acres.

Society president P.V.C. Das, vice-president A. Laxmi Prasad, EC members J. Srinivas Rao and others claimed that the Society purchased the land in 1981. They rejected the claims of Araku YSRC MP K. Geetha and others over the ownership of the land.

The land case came to light after TS Industrial Infrastructure Corporation began taking possession of 424 acres of the land and put up boards. TSIIC claims over 524 acres in the area.

Mr Das said the society purchased the land from its owner Md. Ruknuddin Ahmed and 10 others, represented by GPA holder Sri Venkateswara Enterprises and B. Srinivasan, vide agreement of sale dated February 19, 1982.

“The society has been in continuous and uninterrupted possession of the land till date. The society has title, right and interest over the land,” Mr Das told the media on Tuesday.

Stating that the TSIIC has no locus standi, he said the Society did not execute any sale deed in favour of “bogus companies” belonging to Ms Geetha and her husband P. Rama Koteswara Rao.

“Rama Koteswara Rao created documents which are against principles of the society. Society has no right to alienate the lands to third parties except to its members. Alleged alienations by Rama Koteswara Rao are not binding on the Society and are a sham, and the transactions void,” he said.

However, J. Vinayak Rao, one of the GPA holders on behalf of the pattadar, dismissed the claims of the Bhavana Cooperative Housing society saying that, “The Society has no locus standi and no right over the land.”

He said that the Society lost the case (OS 248 of 2004) in the court. “Anyhow, the matter is now in the court and it has to be settled there,” Mr Vinayak Rao said.
