Kadapa: A fake vehicle insurance document scam has come to light in Rayachoti.

According to reliable sources, the matter surfaced during an inspection by Rayachoti motor vehicles inspector Rajeshwara Rao. However, the police have not received any complaint so far.

When Deccan Chronicle contacted a police officer in Rayachoti, he said, "The matter has come to our notice and an investigation is underway. We will reveal the details after getting full details,” he said.

Regional transport officer M Veerraju told this correspondent that fake insurance documents are being made in the name of big insurance companies and it was difficult to detect them. He said that these were emerging during accident claims.

He said the state government has also decided to upload insurance documents on the Vahan website, which would be fully operational in a month or two.

However, the fact that fake insurance documents were leaked in Rayachoti caused a stir in the district. Ironically, till Wednesday, the issue of fake challans in the sub-registrar's office was in the spotlight.
