Vandalism case: Relief for MLA Renukacharya

Renukacharya had laid siege to the office with his followers and had set a deadline to officer to release the water.

Bengaluru: The City Civil Politician’s Court has given relief to former minister M.P. Renukacharya in a case related to alleged vandalising of a government office.

Mr Renukacharya, an MLA from Honnali in Davanagere district, had asked the authorities to release water from the Bhadra dam to lakes in Shivamogga district. When the authorities allegedly refused to heed, he had barged into the office of KADA in Shivmogga and threatened officers to release water immediately.

Mr Renukacharya had laid siege to the office with his followers and had set a deadline to officer to release the water. He and his followers had barged into the KADA office and broken the furniture.

The court had looked into the allegations against Mr Renukacharya and reserved the order for Monday. Mr Renukacharya attended the court. Judge Ramachandra Huddar cleared him of all charges for lack of evidence.
