Three new Telangana high court judges take oath, strength rises to 14
Hyderabad: Justice Tadakamalla Vinod Kumar, Justice Annireddy Abhishek Reddy and Justice Kunuru Lakshman joined the ranks of judges of the Telangana High Court on Monday.
They were administered the oath of office by Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan.
After taking the oath-taking ceremony, the new judges accompanied the three senior judges as part of three division benches. Justice Abhishek Reddy was seated along with the Chief Justice in the First Court Hall. Justice Lakshman was in the second division bench with the second senior-most judge, Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar.
In the third division bench, Justice Vinod Kumar was seated with the another senior judge, Justice M.S. Ramachan-dra Rao.
Upon receiving a proclamation from President Ram Nath Kovind approving a recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium, the Union law ministry issued a notification on their appointment on August 23.
With the three judges taking oath, the strength of the Telangana High Court has risen to 14.
The posts of 10 judges are vacant. It is learnt that the High Court Collegium headed by Justice Chauhan along with the senior judges has prepared a list containing the names of four advocates to be sent to the Supreme Court Collegium to consider for elevation as High Court judges.
