Police said Rao, a drop-out of the Navabharathi PG college had proposed to the girl but she turned him down.

Hyderabad: MBA dropout Voddapally Venkateswar Rao was arrested for trying to frame a girl who had turned him down, and two Osmania University professors for failing him in his exams.

Rao had pasted their names on 62 cartons containing bottles of foul-smelling liquid which were addressed to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, DGP M. Mahendar Reddy, TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and others.

Police said Rao, a drop-out of the Navabharathi PG college, Bolaram, had proposed to the girl who was his classmate but she turned him down.

Meanwhile, he failed his MBA exams and held two Osmania University professors responsible.

North Zone Task Force police who arrested Rao said he filled bottles with a suspicious liquid, placed them in 62 cartons and wrote the names of the girl and the OU professors in the ‘from’ column.

At about 4 pm on August 16, took the cartons to the Head Post Office near Patny Circle and attempted to book registered posts in the names of VIPs, government officials and celebrities. As it was nearing closing time, the staff asked him to come the next day. Rao took the postal staff’s permission and kept the parcels at the post office. The next day, he paid `7,216 to book the parcels. When the postal staff began dispatching the cartons, the liquid started emitting a foul smell.

The staff verified the ‘from’ address on the parcels, which contained the names of the girl and the two professors, and filed a complaint at the Mahankali police station. North Zone Task Force inspector K. Nageswar Rao said the police examined CCTV footage and identified the autorickshaw (TS10 UB 6922) which brought Rao to the post office. From there, police worked on clues and arrested Rao near Patny Centre.
