Ballari: Hosapete Congress MLA Anand Singh raised many an eyebrow by offering his floral tribute to the urn containing the ashes of former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee when it reached Hosapete town in a procession led by senior BJP leaders K.S. Eshwarappa and B Sriramulu on Saturday evening.
Mr Singh, who joined the Congress ahead of the 2018 assembly elections, was earlier elected to the Assembly twice on a BJP ticket. He justified his decision saying, “I respect him (Vajpayee) as a statesman-politician, he was an Ajathashatru in politics.”
