Jagan Mohan Reddy changes strategy to be nearer to party cadre

His strategy towards the cadres has changed.

VIJAYAWADA: The YSR Congress predsident Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s strategy towards the cadres has changed. After careful review of the party functioning in the State as opposition and also in the ground level, Mr Jagan has changed his approach towards cadres. He is sending signals to the cadres that there would be no middlemen from now onwards. The cadres can directly meet him, and suggest him on any issues, which will be relevant to strengthen the party, according to senior leaders. The YSRC chief reportedly set the new Muhurtha in October, and cadres can look at his new attire and novel way of addressing the issues.

The recent observations of the senior leaders about the change in the attitude of the party president towards addressing the cadres have revealed several astonishing points. “Mr Jagan used to meet the people directly by going to their houses earlier,” a senior MLA of the YSRC said, and added that he didn’t have the habit of meeting cadres at that time. The disappointed cadres used to keep themselves away from the leader, he observed and added that now few political pundits have suggested him to change his way.

“That crucial suggestion to him changed his mindset,” another senior leader of YSRC said and added that in fact many leaders didn’t have access to the party president till recent times. However, few political analysts who worked for Narendra Modi, Mulayam Singh and Nitish Kumar during the elections have been reportedly reviewing the strategies and political activities of Mr Jagan, for the last few months.

It is learnt that he is contemplating to have direct interactive sessions with party workers and dedicated cadres at district level shortly to send a direct signal that he is the most available leader in the party. “Probably, he may come up with his new political Avatar in the month of October, as per his astrological signs,” another leader, who looks after Mr Jagan’s communication wing, said.
