Hyderabad: Cabbies to rescue of Uber driver
Mr Goud said that the driver was saved by the police.
Hyderabad: Telangana Cabs Drivers and Owners Association president B. Venkatesh Goud on Friday criticised the Uber Cabs’ management for not responding to an issue involving its driver.
He said Uber driver D. Srinivas received a booking on Thursday for a pick-up at Shalini Hospital, Kacheguda. “The customer came with a patient and Srinivas refused to pick them up, stating Uber did not allow transport of patients. The booking was cancelled but the patient’s son Saud bin Saleh and two relatives abused the driver and hit him on the head with a stone. They damaged the windscreen of his car,” he said.
Mr Goud said that the driver was saved by the police. “Uber remained non-responsive saying their role was confined to giving bookings,” he alleged.
