Bengaluru: OP Jaisha has dengue, H1N1, say doctors

She is responding well to the treatment and her condition is stable, says Dr Vivek Anand Padegal of Fortis Hospital.

Bengaluru: The 33-year-old O.P. Jaisha, who was tested positive for H1N1, has been admitted to Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road for proper care.

“She wanted to go back to Kerala, but we of counseled her and she agreed to get admitted to Fortis hospital," says Sports Authority of India’s senior scientific officer Dr S.R. Sarala. "In addition, she also has a low platelet count but it is stabilised. We are getting a virology test done for dengue as well. We want Institutional care for her H1N1 and we cannot afford her to travel and get treated just anywhere."

Dr Vivek Anand Padegal, Consultant Pulmonologist, Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, who is the treating doctor for Jaisha, said, "Jaisha was admitted at Fortis Hospital around 6 pm on August 25. She was tested positive for H1N1 and has been under critical observation from the time of her admission. She is responding well to the treatment and her condition is stable.

The government authorities as well as Sports Authority of India are being appraised about her health regularly." Meanwhile Sudha Singh continues to be treated at Fortis Hospital, Nagarbhavi.
