No Respite From Rains in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana is on High alert for heavy rains. Hyderabad continues to get battered by heavy downpour resulting in water logging in several roads and areas

Incidents of tree fall as well as wall collapse have also been reported over the last few days following incessant rains.

The Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad centre sent an alert at 6:30 am of Thursday, with a Satellite picture showing intense cloud over Telangana.

The EV&DM issued a warning of Heavy Rains for next 3 hours all over Hyderabad. The GHMC and DRF urged the citizens not to step out of their homes unless in an emergency.

Some low lying areas may are expected to experience waterlogging. Citizens have been urged to stay away from electric poles.

Meanwhile, the DRF teams have got down to work, clearing the water clogging points. The team was seen clearing the stagnant water at Langar house, bandlaguda and mailardevarapalli areas, near dwarka hotel turning at khairatabad where DRF team is pumping out water from the choke points.

Around 8 water stagnation points have been identified.

Meanwhile the IT and IT related companies asked its employees to work from home, while the educational institutions remain closed with the rain continuing to lash the city.

The water from the twin reservoirs was released into musi, and the authorities are monitoring the areas which are on the banks of this river, as per the 6 am report, Osman Sagar, Gates: 2 gates were open for 1 feet. The inflow is 700 and outflow is 216 and in Himayat Sagar, two gates were opened for 2 feet height, Inflow is 1300 Cusecs and Outflow is 1350 Cusecs.
