Around 1,000 Members of Morancha Village Stranded In Floodwater in Bhupalpalli
WARANGAL: Due to heavy downpour of water with incessant rains that lashed out from Wednesday morning to Thursday the entire Morancha village was inundated in flood water with overflow of water from Morancha vagu at danger levels here in Jayashankar Bhupalpalli district on Thursday.
According to the sources, around 1,000 members of the villagers are stranded in the floodwater. By taking their children, important materials and cattle on to the top of some buildings present in the village, they are eagerly awaiting for help.
A lorry driver who was stuck in flood water at the outskirts of Morancha village posted a video urging the authorities to rescue him.
He said that as many as ten members of the village washed away in the flood water in front of him and was unable to save them because of heavy inflow of flood water.
Having learnt about pathetic condition of the villagers, Bhupalpalli MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy took the issue to the notice of municipal minister K.T.Rama Rao and and urged him to provide helicopter for rescuing the villagers.
The Chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao probed the concerned authorities to carry out rescue operations immediately to save the villagers.
