Thiruvananthapuram: Cops find Rakhi had married accused Akhil

Police said Akhil pic-ked her up from Neyyat-tinkara and asked her to step out of the relationship.

Thiruvananthapuram: The police report in the Amboori murder case revealed that Rakhimol who was murdered, had married prime accused Akhil at a temple in Ernakulam in February.

The Kerala Police team reached Delhi in search of Akhil, the army man who is the first accused in the murder case. He joined Army at DMT Ladakh unit and is now posted in Delhi.

The police has got CCTV footage of Rakhi walking near Neyyatt-inkara bus station when she went to see her lover Akhil on June 21 after telling her family that she is going to Ernakulam.

Police said Akhil picked her up from Neyyat-tinkara and asked her to step out of the relationship. When Rakhi, refused, he took her to his house in a friend’s car. When the car stopped, Akhil caught hold of her hands while his brother Rahul who was in the back seat strangulated her to death. To ensure that her cries were not heard, Akhil raised the accelerator. After burying her body at home, Akhil left for Delhi after a few days. The car used to take Rakhi to Amboori was recovered from Thripparapu. The brother of the car owner, who is a friend of Akhil had revealed to TV channels that it was Akhil who took the car from his brother. Police said Rahul has not surrendered. He dropped out his graduation and completed a sound engineering course and was working as a freelance photographer.
