Rs 11.90 crore sanctioned for flood relief in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: The government has sanctioned Rs 11.90 crore from the relief fund for the district to ensure care of flood affected people.

District administration in a statement said that Rs 5 crore has already been distributed to various tahasildars in the district. People who spent a day in relief camp will be given Rs1000 while Rs 2800 will be made available to people who spent two or more days in camps. A family will get maximum Rs3000', it said.

Meanwhile, separate medical teams have been deployed in various places. These teams are in addition to teams which are already giving service to people in relief camps. At least Rs11 lakh was given to the special medical teams.

Rs 5 crore will be given to people who lost crops and Rs 2 crore will be set aside to provide food, water and cloths for camp inmates. Rs 1 crore is allocated as immediate relief to affected people. Rs 9e lakhs will be used for protection of livestock. Rs 50 lakh to be given to the rehabilitation activities. 6.6lakh will be utilized for supporting fishermen who lost fishing equipment. 25lakh will be distributed to maintenance works of damaged houses.
