Doctors plan stir over NMC Bill tomorrow

IMA members are preparing for an indefinite strike if the Bill is passed.

Hyderabad: The Indian Medical Association has called for a one-day strike on Saturday against the National Medical Commission Bill, which will be tabled in the Lok Sabha on Friday. The IMA stated that it had suggested 24 amendments but only one had been accepted partially, Telangana state IMA president Dr Narsinga Reddy said, “We are against this Bill which will centralise the authority of medical treatment with the government of India.
