Hyderabad temperatures rise on weak rains

On Wednesday, the city recorded 34º C, which is 4ºC above normal for this time of the year.

Hyderabad: The city is witnessing a rise in day temperatures following the southwest monsoon turning weak. On Wednesday, the city recorded 34º C, which is 4ºC above normal for this time of the year.

“During the last 24 hours, the monsoon currents have been weak over the state. Due to the clear skies, the ground is receiving more radition which is increasing the maximum temperature,” said an official from the local weather bureau. “Clouds absorb the sun’s radiation and protect the ground from day long heat. Besides, the absence of moisture and instability in the air has led to clear skies thereby increasing temperatures,” he said.
