Hindi boards will disappear from Metro stations: KDA
BMRCL MD Pradeep Kharola refused to comment, but KDA is convinced that Hindi will be erased from Namma Metro.
Bengaluru: It appears that Metro's Hindi signboards are set to go, though BMRCL has not made an official statement.
Kannada Development Authority president S.G. Siddaramaiah said, “BMRCL has to follow state government’s two-language policy. Metro will remove Hindi signboards in its Phase-I and will not use Hindi in Phase-2. This includes official documents of the departments as well."
During a press conference on Tuesday, the Authority demanded that BMRCL should hire Kannada speaking frontline staff (security and housekeeping) and also make Namma Metro a cultural ambassador.
BMRCL MD Pradeep Kharola refused to comment, but KDA is convinced that Hindi will be erased from Namma Metro.
