Traffic police allay advocates' doubts
Hyderabad: The traffic police on Tuesday gave a demonstration of the breath analyser tests being conducted by them at the Nampally courts and showed how drunken driving checks were conducted, how blood alcohol content levels were recorded and cases booked. The demonstration was made following some doubts raised by advocates that the breath analyzer equipment and the test procedure were improper. "Some of the doubts raised were that even those who have eaten chocolates with alcohol or who gargle with mouthwash are being booked. We demonstrated how the checks are conducted, BAC levels recorded and cases booked," Mr Ranganath said.
In another significant request, traffic police personnel pleaded with the judges and magistrates to consider imprisonment for those people who are being booked for driving without license to reduce danger on the road.
