Telangana: Scanty rainfall in the week ahead

Hyderabad: The state average rainfall from June 1 was minus -45 per cent, according to a report issued by the TS Development and Planning Society. Against the norm of 111.4 mm, the state received 61.1 mm rain.

Rainfall was normal only in six districts of Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Rangareddy and Nalgonda, deficient in 17 districts and 10 districts recorded large deficiencies in 10 districts.

Elsewhere, the IMD said on Tuesday that the rainfall would weaken over the next week as a weather system over Odisha and Chhattisgarh moved away from Telangana. On Tuesday, the city received light to moderate rains. In the GHMC limits Alwal recorded 0.8 mm rainfall.

Moderate rainfall was recorded at few places in Mancherial, Nirnal, Nizamabd, Medak, Rangareddy, Jogulamba Gadwal and Komaram Bheem. districts.
