Adilabad: In the run-up to the elections, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is expected to inaugurate the Korata-Chanaka barrage built on the river Penganga on the state's borders, as well as lay the foundation stone for a new collectorate building and IT park in the second or third week of July.
Already, the Chief Minister inaugurated Integrated District Office Complexes in Nirmal and Mancherial, as well as laid the foundation stone for the medical college building, and on June 30, KCR will begin the distribution of pattas to podu lands in Asifabad.
District officials are in the process of selecting government land for the construction of the Integrated District Office Complex in Adilabad, but there is a significant delay. The Korata-Chanaka barrage is intended to provide water to 50,000 acres in the Adilabad Assembly constituency's mandals of Jainad, Bela, and Bheempur.
The major canal construction of the barrage have already been finished, however land acquisition for sub-canals has not been completed in some places. The cost of the current Korata-Chanaka barrage has been amended by the state government to Rs. 795.94 crore.
The facility, which has a storage capacity of 0.85 tmc water, was initially funded with Rs. 350 crore but later increased to Rs. 500 crore. There are a total of 23 pillars and 24 gates in the project.
K.T. Rama Rao, minister for IT and municipal administration, informed Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna that the Chief Minister will soon visit Adilabad to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for development projects.
Canals are being built in Gimma, Guda, Akoli, Boraj, Sirsanna, and Guda in Jainad mandal, and water is being delivered to the village's agricultural fields.
