Kozhikode: A Councillor of Koduvally municipality says N.K. Sunil Kumar alias ‘Kodi’ Suni, who is serving life in prison for the murder of RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan, is threatening him to purchase illegal gold.
Kozhissery Majeed of the IUML who has a jewellery shop in Doha, in a complaint to Qatar police, says he had received a series of phone calls from the dreaded criminal asking him to buy gold from one of his friends without any documents of ownership.
The first call came on May 20 telling him that one of his friends in Kannur has some gold and asked him to contact if interested.
Later he again called, he told him that he is interested only if there are sufficient documents.
When Mr Majeed insisted on buying only genuine gold, the person again called him and threatened of dire consequences if he refuses to buy it.
As Mr Majeed was in Qatar, he approached the Indian Embassy...
