Support removal of state govt: MK Stalin

He said the State government had refused to release a white paper on industries and is not giving out the facts.

CHENNAI: Citing the RBI report on the manufacturing sector in Tamil Nadu, DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Monday the document clearly shows that industrial growth and investments are going down and asked the people to be prepared for the removal of the AIADMK government in a democratic manner. Expressing shock over the report, he said those who had come to invest in the State are moving out and the 98 MoUs signed in the Global Investors Meet remain only on paper. The RBI report had stated that Tamil Nadu had attained only a growth rate of 1.65 per cent in the manufacturing sector indicating a historic fall.

He said Telangana had showed a growth rate of 7.1 % and Andhra Pradesh 10.36 %, but Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami had claimed that the atmosphere in Tamil Nadu is conducive for investments. Attributing the reasons for the decline in industrial growth to lack of stability and 'bargains' made by the State, he said the State government had refused to release a white paper on industries and is not giving out the facts. The infighting in the AIADMK for power and the pronounced commission culture had caused the fall in industrial growth, Stalin said and asserted that people are seething with anger against the government.

"Only the end of the government will save Tamil Nadu and people should be prepared to complete the task in a democratic manner", he added. PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss said agriculture had recorded minus eight per cent growth and the value of agriculture production had come down from Rs 49,409 crores to 47,678 crores. He said corruption and inefficient government are the reasons for the decline of Tamil Nadu in all fields. Anbumani said the state government should be removed and a new government guided by one who would formulate and implement plans for development would take the state on the development path.
