Many Maoist leaders suffering with Covid-19 in Telangana

Kothagudem: Bhadradri-Kothagudem district superintendent of police Sunil Dutt said that many Maoist leaders and commanders are battling for life with Covid-19. He said that key CPI-Maoist leaders like Soubrai, Rajesh, Nandu, Sagar and many others are infected with the virus. The health of some of them is serious and doctors pertaining to the battalion are unable to give good treatment due to lack of knowledge.

“The police will extend treatment to these Maoist leaders if they surrender. Covid-19 is spreading to the adivasis due to the movement of these leaders in their habitations”, he said.

He said that they caught three persons on Thursday at Hanuman temple in Manuguru while travelling in a car. They were on their way to supply explosives to Maoists. The arrested include Sapalam Pojja, Maoist supply team member, Sodi Sitaiah, party courier and Kunja Jogaiah, militia member. About ten gelatin sticks, three detonators, four nippo batteries, one cardex wire bundle and 20 meter electric wire were seized from their possession.

The leaders informed that Kurasam Gangaiah aka Ithu aka Ramaiah, who was guerilla commander of South Bastar technical team, died while undergoing treatment for Covid-19 in a private hospital in Bastar.
