Hyderabad: The number of teachers in Telangana state is more, as per the student-teacher ratio, said education minister G. Jagadish Reddy, responding to the delay in recruiting the candidates who are qualified through the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) since last two years.
Member of Legislative Constituency (MLC) A. Narsi Reddy and teacher unions have given a representation to the education minister regarding the issues that the teachers are facing, starting from the delay in recruitment to the delay in promotions.
Union members said that the minister has responded positively and said that he would look into the ways to resolve the problems that they have given representation for.
On Saturday, there was also a Mahadharna conducted at the Dharna Chowk regarding the delay in recruitment.
