Thiruvananthapuram: The decision of the PSC to repeatedly reschedule or cancel exams, changing the mode of conduct and cancelling already conducted ones and notifying re-examination has created a controversy.
Recently, it cancelled exams held for the posts of women civil service officers, vocational instructors and domestic nurses without disclosing any specific reason and ordered re-examination.
It is alleged that the answer scripts of the said exams were kept callously for termites to eat.
It is also presumed that similar uncaring approach of storage of answer scripts was the reason for re-exams.
R.S. Sasikumar Conven-or, Higher Education Protection Council, has submitted a complaint to Governor P Sathasivam against the apathy of the PSC in the conduct of the examinations.
The PSC is supposed to conduct the exams with the utmost care, authenticity and wide acceptability among the public and select the meritorious and deserving candidates for various positions. Hence, the chaotic situation resulting from the neglect and lack of accountability is leading to the gross loss of faith in the PSC examinations, his complaint said.
The conduct of examination on Sundays and inclusion of questions deeply hurting the faith and customs of certain communities add to the anti-constitutional acts of the PSC.
It is also learnt that the system analysts examination notified to be conducted on May 25 in OMR mode is being changed to online mode. It is alleged that the change is to favour some candidates who are presently with the C-Dit, the agency entrusted with the online conduct of PSC exams.
