Harley rider falls in Yamuna after being hit by car on DND flyway, missing

The driver of the red Toyota Etios Liva hit the black bike from behind and dragged it for many metres with biker stuck to its bonnet.

New Delhi: A man is missing since Saturday night after his Harley Davidson bike was hit by a speeding car on the Delhi-Noda-Direct (DND) Flyway and fell in the Yamuna river.

According to a report in NDTV, the incident took place around 1 pm and the rider has been identified as south Delhi resident Ayushman Puri.

Police said that the driver of the red Toyota Etios Liva was coming from Delhi towards Noida. It hit the bike from behind and dragged it for many metres with the biker stuck to its bonnet. Following this, Ayushman went over the guard rails at the side of the road and fell into the Yamuna underneath.

Eyewitnesses told that they tried to catch the driver of the Etios Liva, but he left the car behind and ran away.

Delhi Police, Fire Department, Boat Club and the DND staff rushed to the spot, and divers were deployed to locate the rider, NDTV further said.

However, after an intense search, the rider has still not been found.
