Bengaluru: PG inmate alleges rape by manager, 2 others
Bengaluru: A 32-year-old private company employee has accused her three friends of gangraping her in March this year.
She held a press conference on Saturday and accused the manager of her paying guest accommodation of hatching the gangrape plan over a personal rivalry. "Initially, the jurisdictional police refused to register my complaint. I approached senior cops who directed Byatarayanapura police to accept the complaint," she told the media.
A case has been registered under IPC Section 376 - D (gangrape) on Friday and the Byatarayanapura police are looking for the accused who are absconding. The victim, who worked as a receptionist at the private firm, said that her three friends barged into her room on the night of March 18 and raped her. She said that she lives in the PG located in the western parts of Bengaluru since mid-2015 and knew the manager well.
"The prime accused is Kartik, who is a good friend of mine. His two friends, whose names I don't remember, would drop into my PG often. On March 18 night, the three raped me and videographed it," the victim said at the press meet. She said that the accused trio sedated her with sleeping pills before raping her.
"The PG owner is the brain behind this. He had earlier stolen my gold ornaments using the duplicate keys. When I requested him to return them, he told me to spend the night with two men whom I didn't know. I refused and the manager hatched the rape plan and instigated Karthik and others," she said.
Senior police officer said they have vital clues on the fugitive accused. "We have also collected the CCTV footage of the PG as well as surrounding buildings. We are corroborating all material evidence. In a day or two, we shall arrest all the accused," he said.
