TD's three-day Mahanadu starts today

The party aims to make this year's Mahanadu special as it enters its 35th year.

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam, in power in AP, will be holding the Mahanadu, its annual conclave, in Tirupati from May 27 to May 29.

The party aims to make this year’s Mahanadu special as it enters its 35th year.
The 35-year draft resolution skips mention of Lakshmi Parvati, the wife of the party’s founder-president, N.T. Rama Rao, but includes the names of TD senior leaders K. Yerrannaidu, G.M.C. Balayogi, Lal Jan Basha and Elimineti Madhav Reddy, all deceased, and pays tributes to them.

The draft resolution says Mr Naidu took over as Chief Minister in 1994 after NTR (Mr Naidu actually took over as CM in 1995). According to the copy of draft resolution prepared by the TD, Mr Naidu has not only strengthened the party but also worked for the development of the state.

It also thanks Nara Lokesh for working for the party. Meanwhile, the TD’s official website still has NTR’s son N. Harikrishna on the party’s iconic leaders’ list along with NTR, Mr Naidu, Mr Lokesh and N. Balakrishna. Except Mr Naidu’s kin, no other leader, including former LS Speaker G.M.C. Balayogi or Union ministers or senior leaders are on the website, from where anyone interested can download posters.
