Give extra time for disabled students in exams: Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar

The guidelines state that 20 minutes per hour should be given to such candidates.

Hyderabad: Following a report published in these columns, Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar has written to education minister Kadiam Srihari asking for extra time for visually challenged students in exams as per the guidelines issued by the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment.

The guidelines state that 20 minutes per hour should be given to such candidates. He said that the term “extra time” should be replaced by “compensatory time”.

The DC report was about a visually challenged candidate, Mr K. Jaakar, who had taken the Teachers Eligibility Test on Sunday. Though he ticked 110 of the 150 questions on the question paper, he could not fill a single bubble on his OMR sheet, thinking he would get extra time.
