AP toppers can only get non-local quota
Hyderabad: The trend of AP students topping TS Eamcet continued in the agriculture, veterinary and allied streams, with three AP students in the top 10 list.
Bojja Pradeep Reddy from Kadapa topped with 160 out of 160 marks. City boy Talluri Sai Teja from Kukatpally topped the engineering stream also with 160/160.
TS students had bagged six of the top 10 ranks in the medical stream and one of the top 10 in Engineering in the AP Eamcet.
The TS government will hold the Eamcet medical on July 9, following relaxation from Neet this year. Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, who released the results said the government would take steps like holding special classes for TS students to improve their performance in Eamcet.
Asked about AP students dominating TS Eamcet, Mr Srihari said, “This is a competitive exam and ranks are based on performance and merit. This will have no impact on TS students as AP students are entitled to the 15 per cent open quota for which TS students can compete.”
Eamcet convener Prof N.V. Ramana Rao said OMR answer sheets would be available online on the website www.tseamcet.in from May 28 to June 4. If students find any error in the evaluation, they can apply for revaluation by paying Rs 5,000 and submit the application online by 5 pm on June 4. The decision of the Eamcet committee will be final.
