Opposition ramps pressure on TSBIE

TPCC\'s student wing NSUI embarked on a hunger strike at Indira Park.

Hyderabad: Opposition parties continued their protest against the inaccuracy of the Intermediate examination results.

Vidyarthi Jana Samiti, the student organisation of the Telangana Jana Samiti of Prof. M. Kodandaram, held a round table conference on Friday and decided to stage a dharna on April 29 before the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) office.

Former MP G. Vivek blamed the government for the student suicides and asked how it could commission Globareena Technology, a blacklisted firm, for tallying the marks. He demanded an inquiry by a High Court judge.

NSUI state president Balamur Venkat demanded that the government pay `25 lakh each compensation to the families of students who committed suicide.

Left parties, including the CPI, besieged the BIE office and demanded the dismissal of education minister Jagadish Reddy. They demanded that the government pay `20 lakh each in compensation to the families of students.
