Hyderabad: Justice Sanjay Kumar recuses himself in Konda Vishweshwar Reddy case

Mr Reddy had filed the petition after the Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge rejected his plea for anticipatory bail on April 24.

Hyderabad: Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Friday recused himself from hearing the petition of Congress leader Konda Vishweshwar Reddy who sought anticipatory bail in a case which was registered against him in the Banjara Hills police station of allegedly assaulting a sub inspector and a constable.

Citing personal reasons, Justice Kumar directed the Registry to place the petition before the Acting Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan to allot the case to another Judge.

Mr Reddy had filed the petition after the Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge rejected his plea for anticipatory bail on April 24.

The Banjara Hills police had lodged the case against Mr Reddy on a complaint stating that he had assaulted two police personnel on duty and prevented them from doing their duty when they went to serve notice on him in relation to an election-time cash seizure case.
