Hyderabad: Deadline to apply for exam extended again
Hyderabad: The last date to apply for re-verification, recounting and advanced supplementary examinations for Intermediate students has been extended to April 29, after several requests from students and parents who were very disturbed by the goof-up in the results.
The previous deadline was April 27.
Apart from students who have been been declared failed, the supplementary exams are also taken by students who want to improve their scores to stand a better chance in entrance tests.
Students who might be worried about the possibility that their Intermediate results affecting their scores in the Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test, which gives 25 per cent weightage to intermediate examination results had some relief.
The Higher Education Council assured that the Eamcet results won’t be declared till the Board of Intermeidate Education releases the reverified mark list.
The Eamcet authorities will consider only the final score released by the board, the BIE said. The Eamcet will be conducted as per schedule from May 3 to 9, according to officials from the Telangana State Council of Higher Education.
There were demands that the exams be postponed in view of the fact that students had lost time and were distracted by the row over the Intermediate examination results.
Elsewhere, some student organisations made a representation to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan regarding the goof-up in the Intermediate examination results.
They requested the Governor to extend the free evaluation of answer sheets to all the students, and not just those who had been declared failed.
They also demanded that the government increases the lecturer strength.
