ACB seeks status of case on Chandrababu Naidu

Naidu had moved the High Court and obtained a stay.

Hyderabad: In a significant development in the disproportionate assets case filed against AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by YSRC leader Lakshmi Parvati, an ACB court here on Friday sought to know from her the status of the case. Ms Parvati, the wife of TD founder N.T. Rama Rao, had moved a complaint before the ACB court in 2005 accusing Mr Naidu of amassing wealth by illegal means.

Mr Naidu had moved the High Court and obtained a stay. The apex court had in March last year ordered that stay orders in all criminal and civil which are pending for more than six months stand cancelled.

In this backdrop, the ACB court summoned Ms Parvati.

The ACB court has asked her whether she would continue the case or withdraw it. Counsel appearing for Ms Parvati said his client wanted to continue the hearing.

While submitting that they would ascertain the status of the stay order of the High Court, counsel urged the court to grant some time. The ACB court posted the case to May 13.
