Hyderabad: Lake police averts three suicides

On Thursday, a 28-year-old woman tried to end her life depressed over her lover getting married to another woman.

Hyderabad: City lake police rescued three persons from committing suicide in three different incidents at the Hussainsagar Lake on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In the first incident on Tuesday afternoon, a 30-year- old woman from Bandlaguda was stopped as she was about to jump into the lake opposite to the Suravaravaram Prathap Reddy statue. “On enquiry, it was found that she was harassed by her husband due to which she fell into depression and decided to end her life. After counselling she was handed over to Bharosa Centre for further counselling,” said police.

In the second incident on Tuesday evening, another 30- year-old woman was saved while she was trying to jump into the lake. She was also being harassed by her husband and was sent for counselling by the police. On Thursday, a 28-year-old woman tried to end her life depressed over her lover getting married to another woman. She was sent to Bharosa Centre for counselling.
