YS Jagan Mohan Reddy offered me Rs 1,500 crore, says Farooq Abdullah

Farooq appealed to the people to vote for the Telugu Desam which was working for their welfare.

Kadapa: National Conference chief and Jammu & Kashmir former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah alleged that YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had offered him Rs 1,500 crore to recommend his name as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh during Congress rule.

“I was embarrassed with his proposal. How did he earn such a huge amount,” he said, while addressing an election gathering at Kadapa with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday afternoon at Kadapa.

He did not provide more details including whom he was asked to recommend Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy name to.

He appealed to the people to vote for the Telugu Desam which was working for their welfare. He alleged that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy had joined hands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and if anybody voted for the YSRC the vote would directly go to the BJP.

Appealing to Muslims who have a significant presence in Kurnool district, Dr Abdullah said, “Kashmir is an integral part of india and no force on earth can sever the paradise on earth from India.”

He said the country must be built anew in which people of all religions and castes could co-exist and live in peace.

Expressing displeasure at hate-mogering that has become a bane, Dr Abdullah said a new wave was needed to blow up the animosity perpetrated by narrow-minded politicians. “This must change”, he said.

Dr Abdullah was visiting Nandyal, Allagadda and Kurnool for the first time as he canvassed with Mr Naidu.

He received a wide applause when he sang Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan from the film Mera Naam Joker before the Nandyal meeting.

Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Abdullah said none of the promises made by the BJP in 2014 had been fulfilled.
