Results of Andhra Pradesh MLC polls today

AP chief electoral officer, G.D. Dwivedi said that the counting of votes has started and the first round of counting has been completed.

Vijayawada: The counting of MLC elections of Krishna and Guntur graduates constituency and Visakhapatnam teachers constituency started on Tuesday and the result will be announced on Wednesday owing to the manual counting of ballots.

AP chief electoral officer, G.D. Dwivedi said that the counting of votes has started and the first round of counting has been completed.

He said that 17,293 votes were counted in which 7,834 votes were polled to Raghu Varma and 5,232 votes polled to another aspirant Srinivasulu Naidu.

He said that these were the first preferential votes and the second preferential votes would be counted on Wednesday following which the final results will be declared.

He said that as many 40 candidates had contested in this poll and hence the larger of the ballot papers was used for polling.

He said that counting of these ballots would be held on Wednesday at Guntur and results would be announced after completion of counting.
